Installation on public space. A place to experience and reflect about creative practice, its endless possibilities and its inherent destructive condition. The archetypical table was manipulated, intervened, manufactured; thought the process ‘destroyed’, in many diverse ways.
Concrete gave contrast. Such a long lasting heavy material was combined with the relatively durable light table, the chosen context also helped (background wall belongs to the cathedral of Murcia, finished on 1465). Some suggestive traces of traditional chairs integrate with the minimalistic table, transcending the very own sense of its existence.
Created for Mmod’13 Festival. Installation awarded with the IKEA ‘Urban Art’ prize
