ALL-IN-SQUARE by IN-TENTA, award-winning project of the ‘Urban element design contest’ organized by URBAN SQUARE + O-cults, is made up of a microarchitecture and modular urban elements.
ALL-IN-SQUARE is a new design idea made up of a microarchitecture, urban furniture and external floor covering for public urban spaces and contemporary users, offering them solutions to new needs and habits.
The microarchitecture can be used as a temporary shop as well as information point. It is composed of two basic elements: a square structure and a perforated metal cover which surface can be customized with different cutting patterns and corporate logos. The metal cover can be used as a tunnel to create a sheltered outdoor space or cover totally the square structure. It depends on the dimensions of the location and use needs.
• ALL-IN-SQUARE urban furniture is made up of four modular elements:
– A backless bench made in granite
– A ‘cocoon’ seat made in perforated metal plate to lean on or to stretch in
– A lighting element that creates a soft light
– A bike stand made in metal plate that can be used as a fast temporary parking
• ALL-IN-SQUARE external floor covering is made in granite, solid surface (light emitter) and steel.
The trapezoidal-shaped pieces can be combined in multiple ways according to different use needs and open air activities related with leisure, the use of technological devices and social relationships in public spaces. ALL-IN-SQUARE includes a hot spot to provide Internet access. This need to access to Internet everywhere, quickly and comfortably, promotes new designs for public landscape.
The design incorporates technological aspects as well as ecological aspects. Thin photovoltaic solar films are located on the roof of the metal plate of the microarchitecture as well as the ‘cocoon’ elements to supply energy.
ALL-IN-SQUARE is fully built in a factory and then transported to the final location. It is specifically designed to be installed with a minimum impact on the environment. ALL-IN-SQUARE concept won the ‘Urban element design contest’ organized by URBAN SQUARE and O-cults. Urban furniture and micro-architecture producer URBAN SQUARE has selected ALL-IN-SQUARE to be produced and commercialized as a part of its catalogue.
