The series BLUE SUNDAY and TIDE by the Berlin based designer Anna Badur are playful experiments with the traditional decor colour cobalt on porcelain tableware. By dripping the liquid colour and dipping porcelain pieces into the cobalt stain, various appearances of water movement are captured. This body of work was developed in cooperation with the german porcelain manufacturer Kahla. Addressing the colour cobalt blue, which has been in use for classic stamped décors since the establishment of the company, Anna Badur’s experimental way of working leads to a complete new appearance of the colour. The results are reminiscent of evaporated puddles, captured rain drops or the moving sea.
The plates and cups are using the Kahla series Fife Senses and Pronto by designer Barbara Schmidt.
