It seams every time I go out for a coffee on the patio and get up, I manage to bump the light weight injection molded table and spill my coffee all over the place. So I set out to make a table that wouldn’t flinch and yet would have a light appeal. Concrete of course was my first gut reaction and ran with it. But it couldn’t all be concrete and have a light feel to it, so felt wood was the best pairing. Concrete is after all liquid in the beginning, so wanted to expose this quality. Wood having its greatest strength in the linear form made it obvious that the legs would be made from it. After playing with several forms and molds and removing a leg I came up with this final form. No more wasted coffee.
