Furniture developed for the project VIIO_Chile 2017 in conjunction with E.N.D where the order was to develop an object or furniture with the new product (glass) VIIO Optiwhite. This project had the participation of 4 designers (Ariel Huerta, Juan Pablo Fuentes, Nueve Design Studio), where each one designed a piece of furniture or an object, this was concluded with an exhibition at E.N.D. (espacio nacional de diseno).
My main objective when designing in this project, was to combine the glass with an organic material such as wood, to generate a visual balance in the temperature of the furniture. In this way the materials would highlight their most common attributes and formats. That said, the space, vacuum and transparency were the concepts used to generate a visually light and warm furniture, where wood is a support for glass.
The most important feature of this piece of furniture is that it is an RTA shelf (ready to assemble), it does not require tools to be assembled.
