Artist and designer Yuni Kim Lang lives and works in Birmingham, Michigan. A graduate of Parsons the New School for Design and current Masters Candidate at Cranbrook Academy of Art, she creates contemporary Jewelry inspired by specific Korean and Chinese cultural references such as the Button Knot.
She uses an industrial polypropylene rope and completely transforms the material where the source becomes unrecognizable.
There is a longing for beauty in her work. The pieces explore how history and culture can coexist in our fashion world; bringing back the beauty of the old in a new way to meet the needs of the present.
