Continuing its commitment to nurture, encourage and inspire young design talent, registration is now open for the 5th edition of Roca’s International Design Competition – Jump the Gap.
The purpose of Jump the Gap is to discover new talent from around the world within the context of architecture and design, allowing participants to show their ideas, create and propose innovative solutions for the bathroom space and related products. The competition’s mandate is simple – entrants are asked to visualise a new concept, product or space for the bathroom of tomorrow.
The competition will be judged by luminaries from the world of design and architecture, including this years president, Tokyo architect, Kazuyo Sejima; Finnish designer, Harri Koskinen; Spanish architect, Andrés Jaque; Interiors Director, Wallpaper*, Benjamin Kempton and Design Manager, Roca, Josep Congost.
Young design professionals and students wanting to participate must register by 13.00 on 31 January 2013 via the website www.jumpthegap.net where they will find all the information they need together with the terms and conditions. Submissions will be required by 5 April 2013.
One winning project will be chosen, and will receive a cash prize of €5000 during an award ceremony in September/October 2013. The winner will be invited to attend the event to be held in one of the four Roca Galleries; London, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon. Roca will cover travel and accommodation expenses.
