Being part of the Designer’s Days manifestation in Paris in May, laurent Corio presents a
hammock as a response to the theme of the event which is the movement.
An installation which invites to a slow motion, breaking with a stressfull and restless
everyday life. Beyond what we usually call “rest” and regarding the way we use it, the
hammock is primarily a vehicle to focus to a much more constructive forward-looking
Developed with a French company specializing in carpentry woodwork, Tecsabois, this
furniture is is supported by a wooden frame, surrounding the swinging fabric.
Based on a classical timber structure and inspired by a popular art of living in French
culture, this hammock still remains modern and useful regarding the moveable wooden
frame and the easy way to install the fabric. It has been conceived for an outside as well
as an inside use.
