Because of a tendency to overlook problems associated with age and/or inabilities, it is important to look past our fears and start addressing real problems faced on a day to day basis.
Dzbanek is a jug that incorporates cognitive rehabilitation into the everyday lives of people recovering after brain injury. The concept is based around the notion that the more rehabilitation (physical and/or neurological) is introduced to the patient, the quicker he/she can return to regular life.
The jug trains the brain by introducing a new way of carrying out the familiar everyday task of pouring a liquid. A specially designed spout reverses the flow of the liquid, encouraging the user to think critically and solve a spatial puzzle – a task normally assigned as part of therapy.
