Brisbane’s RNA and Lend Lease, are implementing a ten year Master Plan that will see the 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds site transformed into a vibrant new mixed-use precinct. The Plan, budgeted at roughly $2.9 billion, will be the largest Brownfield development of its kind in Australia.

The first phase of the Master Plan focuses around the heritage heart of the site and includes the Royal International Convention Centre and arrival plaza. Dotdash designed two brightly coloured illuminated markers which were revealed at this years EKKA, Queensland’s annual show where the country comes to the city.

Whilst permanent markers, they embody the high energy of the EKKA all year long. During dormant periods they provide the site with a clear identity while hinting at what the future has in store for the site. As the Master Plan unfolds the site will receive an additional four radiant jewels in the crown.
