During the last Milano Design Week, Faro Barcelona introduced Han, a lamp-coat hanger designed by the Barcelona based studio formed by Álvaro Goula and Pablo Figuera. The design is the result of Faro’s first order to the Studio and it is their first collaboration. “When we were asked to design a wall lamp which at the same time had to be a coat hanger, the first thing we thought was that it was going to be complicated to find a balanced design which would integrate nicely the two elements, but at the end, we are very happy with the result.” declare the designers.
Han is an LED lamp which emits warm indirect light and has four hangers attached. Made in steel and PMMA, it is available in two colours, black and white. As Goula / Figuera say, it is designed to provide a soft and suggestive lighting in the reception area where coat hangers are usually placed. “Imagine you come back home at night after a concert. You open the door, turn on the lights and the last thing you want is to be welcomed by a powerful and blinding light. Han makes exactly the opposite: It welcomes you with a warm and ideal dim light so you can hang your bag and coat.”
Han’s design is minimalistic and reflects with clarity Goula / Figuera’s obsessions and uses purely geometric lines which recall their most recent works, such as the experimental project Viride or the sculptural lamps Lines & Dots.
