Catacombs rising in Paris – the upholstered version

Picture a pouf in the shape of a skull covered in graphic patterns and you’ll have the Hedonist Pouf. It’s based on the Hedonist skulls in porcelain that premiered to great acclaim in Milan earlier this year. The Hedonist pouf will be shown to the public for the first time this coming friday at the Maison & Objet fair in Paris.

“Once we had the porcelain skulls in our hand the pouf was almost as a natural evolution—it wanted to be made. And now it sort of inhabits the environment it is put in.” — Kristian Andréason

The Hedonist pouf consists of a CNC machined core in styrofoam upholstered by hand using traditional techniques with horsehair padding covered in a triangulated patchwork with a woven black and white striped fabric.

Where: Maison & Objet, Parcours Inspirations “Exposition psychotropia” par Francois Bernard, in Hall 7.
Parc des Expositions / Paris Nord, 93420 Villepinte.

When: 6–10 September, Friday to Monday 9.30am – 7.00pm, Tuesday 9.30am – 6.00pm
