The Tea Table was designed with rhythm as a programmatic component. Rhythm as a form of progression, which for us, is part of the universe and also part of nature.
The natural qualities of the table are expressed in the warmth of the wood. Built from Ipe [Tabebuia], which is cultivated and harvested sustainably, the table exhibits the marriage of relaxation and peace.
The spatial order of the Tea Table is based on the concept of proportions, in which the geometry of the peice is intended to create a repeating pattern. The symmetry of the table communicates the connection with both nature and humanity.
