Minimal accessory, using spring for industrial products.
A Japanese accessory brand acrylic and design office id collaboratively designed spring accessories collection.
A spring for industrial product was used to resemble accessory. Spring developed for a purpose of downsizing drew a curve with a single sheet metal. In order to pull out its charm, thickness and height of waves were adjusted for each item.
A solo ring gives enough impact, but putting two rings together bring a sense of laxuary though it is a piece of industrial product. Also, the ring can be used as an ear ring part by combining with the acrylic’s existing ear ring made of rubber. Furthermore, it also can be used as a broach and tiepin like a clip.
Choker part brings a heavy impression because of the thick material which was originally used for saddles of electronic bicycles. This choker part can be used as a broach like a clip as well as the ring above. It can clip a thick fabric. Since it is not pinned-up, it enables to take on and out easily without damaging fabrics.
A bracelet is very light despite its volume since there is space between the thin steel sheets. In accord to its expansion and contraction, it dances on wrist, giving a unique impression.
All the items in this collection are used a shot-peening method, not painting, in order to strengthen industrial products. That’s why those are finished with a mat impression.
