Made in London, Lignum Fold is a new range of hand folded wooden objects for the home.
I like the challenge of creating objects from a set of rules; a flat sheet of material with a simple palette of geometric shapes. The rules mean I have to play with the material by folding, flexing and forming it in an unconventional way. I love this origami style approach as it gives a sense of mystery about how each object is constructed whilst creating delicate looking designs that are surprisingly solid and sturdy to the touch.
The outcome of this project is a lightweight lampshade, pencil pots and decorative tabletop accessories.
