The furniture and lamps at Tungsten Customs are designed and built by my friend Jeremy Medow, a 30-year-old Ivy League grad who quit his investment banking job in New York and moved to Milford, CT to make lamps when his new wife got into Yale nursing school. I teased him that women open bakeries at their quarter-mid-life crises, and men make furniture. My teasing was funny (I thought) until I realized how fantastic his work was!

I live and work in a small, one-bedroom apartment on west 57th Street in New York City. I asked for a “standing lamp” that wouldn’t take up room in my apartment, and the Manhattan was what he built for me. Each fixture is on its own dimmer.
