UNPUBLISHED REVIEW –

“Manifold Destiny” is the physical starting point to an inevitable trek of mental repetition. The real and perceived movement of the pattern into infinity relates directly to manifest destiny or “a future event accepted as inevitable”, the mantra of the nation’s colonizers.

The minimalist design allows for a variety of associations ranging from baseball dug-outs and prison yards to concepts like the Euclidean geometry studied by the artist in Jr. High School and the depiction of sound frequencies. Standing between fencing sections of Manifold Destiny and gazing to the left or right, one’s view becomes scrambled like the static of an old TV set.

The artist sought out a Los Angeles-based fence contractor to team up with and fabricate the chain link installation based on a 3D digital mock-up.
