MYBF (My best friend) is born! The new collection of 3D printed jewelry designed by MAISON 203
A modern, yet ironic, tribute to impressive medieval jewelry.
This is the inspiration for the new collection of accessories designed by Maison 203 called MYBF (My best friend). An eccentric line of jewelry that interprets traditional shapes exaggerating sizes and color. The traditional diamond ring becomes an elegant giant-size accessory, while necklace and bracelets are very flashy three-dimensional ornaments. Very dramatic accessories that stand out for the simple design with strong lines and bright fashionable colors.
“Thanks to MYBF, every woman will afford a diamond ring of her own” – jokes around Orlando Fernandez Flores, founder of the Maison 203 brand together with his wife Lucia De Conti, and the collection designer. – The ironic inspiration contrasts the will to experiment new materials and techniques such as the 3D printing technology used to make this collection. A technology still new for the fashion and design industry that makes it possible to create three-dimensional objects by simply sending to print a digital file. The material used is nylon: extremely light yet very strong and flexible.
Since its launch in the market, the MYBF collection proved to be a great success, expanding distribution to some of the most influential design stores such as: MoMA Store in New York, La Rinascente in Milan, Fleux and Silvera in Paris, Illlums Bolighus in Copenhagen, Do Shop London…
“We want to look forward” says Orlando Fernandez Flores, “We wish for this to be just the beginning of a larger MYBF collection of accessories, that could develop into new families of pieces designed each year by different designers”.
