Romain Pascal will be presenting new projects at the London Design Festival 2013, inlcuding a vase and a series of candle holders.

For this candle holder collection, Romain Pascal worked with glass blowers, ceramicists and stone carvers to create objects that explore the possibilities of the archetypal diner stick candle.

“Candles are interestingly between indispensable and superfluous, being used both for light during power cuts and as an atmosphere accessory. This highlights the simple nature of candles, that can be seen as a slow-object, in opposition to hyper technological environments and can answer the need of essential things” says Romain Pascal.

For his vase, Romain Pascal work on the association of two materials. The weight of the marble contrasts with the lightness of the glass. Flowers emmerge from the solid base like if they were floating in mid air.
