New Storage pieces from John Eric Byers are defined by Surface + Form + Function. Made with domestic hardwoods (cherry, poplar, walnut ) and constructed with traditional joinery techniques, they are then hand carved and blackened to create pieces that are modern, primal and tactile. Select pieces will be exhibited at the Architectural Digest Made Show in March 2013. Byers work has drawn wide notice and acclaim. This former student of Wendell Castle has been included in the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Arts for his contributions as a leading American artist working with wood.
