Nota is a desk organizer set inspired by material exploration. The minimalist and clean appearance was my initial focus. I used both matte and glossy finishes to create contrast. The emphasis was to make people to touch and feel the playful sensation. These table top pieces can be used to store anything from stationary goods to plants. Materialwise it can be produced in ceramic as represented or could in transparent glass.
Selection of different materials:from rubber to fabric to plastic I experimented with different textures. I used ink to stamp the beautiful textures on paper and then digitized these organic stains them to create a pattern.
The design of the containers was inspired by the pyramidal shape of a textured rubber found in the hardware store. Form development was done through a variety of thumbnail sketches and that’s how I come up with the final design.
