The Swiss architects L3P developed the concept for the trade fair stand of a systems developer in the façade sector at Swissbau Basel. Working on the principle that “a journey makes us appreciate space” the stand was closed from the outside which produced a mysterious atmosphere and created curiosity and excitement for the passers-by. “We decided to cover the outer shell for the pavilion with fibreC glassfibre concrete panels, in order to showcase the characteristics of the material and the exciting design possibilities”, said Boris Egli about his concept for the stand. In this way, the flat fibreC concrete panels were transformed into “sculptural fibreC”. The aim was that “sculptural fibreC” would take the visitors on a journey through various types of facade. The architect’s concept lived up to its promise. The pavilion caused great curiosity among the trade fair visitors.
