Oriented toward a progressive, luxury vehicle consumer, the concept behind Platinum Cars was to insert a degree of theatricality into the purchasing process. It is not simply a sales center, but a progressive environment in which exotic cars are sculptural artworks within a sales office, common area, client lounge, car showroom, and service area. The office area is intentionally pure black and white, comprised of a disciplined material palette, and minimal detailing. A carefully-contrived mixture of matte and high gloss finishes enhance dimension within the monochromatic palette.
Public spaces are conceived as objects within the landscape of the office space and are designed to be visually separated. Geometrically defined blackened steel forms with dynamic angles to create this backdrop of avant-garde architecture into which the customer interacts. A continuous structure leads the public from the reception area into the waiting lounge, becoming a self-service bar on one side while another side frames a TV. Almost all of the within the space is custom designed to be consistent with this overall language.
