Plug A Seat by Victor Nouman and Eugenio Fernández

Cities are full of urban elements fixed to the floor that are barriers for citizens. Bollards are a good example. However these apparently useless elements can also be spaces of opportunity. PLUG A SEAT is a project that come up with the objective of rethinking public space through simple operations that gives to these elements new meanings. The project consists of a collection of pieces that fit into the street bollards transforming them into temporary seats and tables. PLUG A SEAT make possible to transform the streets into a flexible public space where citizen can decide how to change it.

For the production these elements we have designed an aluminum piece that perfectly fits into the bollard. We have designed different pieces that are welded to the cylindrical basement. All the pieces are produced in different colors lacquered aluminum sheet.
