In this project a very traditional crafted furniture like the chesterfield deep buttoned armchair is reinterpret by reconstructing it through polygon surfaces in a computer program. As part of the refabriek exhibition on the Dutch Design Week 2011 together with manystudio ( www.manystudio.com ) I transformed the digital model to a 2D developable surface, printed it and rebuilt it in paper. Through that a real representation of the digital interpretation of the chesterfield could be experienced. The use of colored paper allowed to realizes the real scale model in an easy, playfull way but not to create a functional chair. The paper was cut with a laser cutter and great support from www.de-factorij.nl
