The Polyp Lamps are a sustainable light source inspired by coral polyps on the ocean floor and intend to bring an organic element into the highly structured human habitat.

The lamp is made up of two parts, a paper shell supported by a 3D Printed Base which also holds the light fixture. The paper is die cut and then hand scored, folded and adhered using an archival PVA adhesive. The paper is also post-consumer material, with all of the waste recycled. The base holds an LED bulb and fixture so that low heat is emitted in addition to being low energy consumption.
