pullong-and-twisting??

The project is inspired by the recognition of a deep sentimental attachment to sugary sweets and treats that is embedded during childhood. It unashamedly celebrates the form, colour and texture of these delights and seeks to revitalize an enjoyment of their simple pleasures.
The interest has been pursued through the exploration of a contemporary cake stand, primarily informed by traditional techniques of hand-made sweet manufacture with the important process of pulling and twisting of sugar. the final forms reflect their sugary origin and are cast in resin.
All the cake stand bases and dessert plates are connected with magnets.
