SOHN is occasionally inspired by the areas of fashion and graphic design. In addition, ‘restauro’ reinterprets the patchwork patterns of the fashion design field as a type of objet, in this case a chair. SOHN completed the ‘Rebuild’ concept by assigning a new value to individual abandoned metal piece rather than merely recycling the materials. Metal pieces having different colors and shapes create new pattern images.
Based on studies of materials, weight-supporting frames consist of a minimum number of pieces created through a banding process for better structural strength and stability. Moreover, welding marks, which are found only on metal materials, show the uniqueness of the material itself.
As time passes, the colors or/and texture of fabrics naturally change, and the piece becomes more attractive. Likewise, the signs of usage on seats, which are made of typical metal pieces, will add this type of vintage touch naturally.
