The ‘Specimen tree’ is an interactive solar powered public artwork, containing artificial flowers designed and developed by a group of local primary school pupils through botanical research and creative workshops.
The video captures the imagination and design process of each participant’s flower in the globes. The pieces document their interpretations of artificial life…”What if you could create a flower? Where flower specimens are inanimate objects until human interaction makes them come ‘alive’ by blowing into the globes the ‘Breath of Life’ concept is born.
The sculpture is installed outside a Primary school in the Perth & Kinross region of Scotland.
Materials: steel, polycarbonate, solar panels, copper, stainless steel, electronic components/circuits.
