With this project, we are trying to represent a catastrophic scenario of water shortage, that might not be so far in the future as we would like to believe. Water shortage would mean a scarcity of every resource, natural or not: no industry, no personal hygiene, no agriculture, and, eventually, no life.
The result is a series of four geometric vases, produced with synthetic resin, a byproduct of oil that might be still available in this scenario, combined with different materials that represent each of the consequences of water scarcity.
no hygiene // dirty life: with no water, it will be almost impossible to keep ourselves clean. what can we do to feel cleaner?
no agriculture // arid life: fields and crops will dry out, becoming deserts of sand and salt. what plants could we grow?
no industry // rustic life: graphite and charcoal, carbon used in the industry, what will they be used for?
no water // death : the ultimate consequence, perhaps the most predictable one. what can we do to avoid it?
