With Timbre, California-based Running Farm Labs is challenging long-established expectations of what a speaker should look like. The seamless stainless steel face is devoid of perforations or features, because it has nothing to hide: the metal itself is vibrating to produce sound. Timbre is crafted from a single piece of sustainably-sourced solid alder, and is made locally in the USA.

“We wanted to push the minimalist agenda, with respect to speakers, as far as it could go. To accomplish this, we had to do quite a lot of engineering, as well as design — luckily we enjoy both processes.” – Jon
