Standing a little over five and a half feet, this wall-leaning coat rack is formed from bent-laminated ash, with machined aluminum pegs. Birch plywood makes up the shelving, designed to catch all the miscellaneous items that accompany one into their dwelling.
For the wall leaning coatrack, I wanted to create a piece of furniture that lived somewhere between IKEA and DWR—a simple, yet elegant, furnishing that could integrate seamlessly into any modern home.
I looked to create a storage unit that would require the least amount of installation, and would be noninvasive into the existing architecture, avoiding pesky holes in drywall and a lost security deposit—all with a small physical footprint.
