SORRY IF YOU GET THIS TWICE. THINK IMAGES WERE TOO BIG FIRST TIME. JENNY.
Forward thinking E-tailor Out There Interiors.com is pleased to present the WIRE furniture collection, designed by Alessandro Zambelli for Italian Design House Seletti.
The collection is inspired by the Vienna Secession, an Art Nouveau movement formed at the end of the nineteenth century by a group of Austrian artists who became disillusioned with the traditional style of the time.
Alessandro has designed a range of furniture which would feel at ease inside Brussels’ Stoclet Palcace which was designed by founding members of the Succession Gustav Klimt and Josef Hoffman. Stoclet Palace is a masterpiece of Eurpoean Art Nouveau and one of most luxurious private houses of the twentieth century. The WIRE range with its perfect geometry and glints of gold is evocative of the period.
The WIRE range is finished in painted steel and available in three colours: pastel cream, salmon pink and musk green (pictured). There are five pieces of furniture in the collection: a chest of drawers, a wardrobe with two drawers, a cupboard with three doors, a full-height storage unit and a mid-height storage unit.
The collection is tied together with fine, brass wire lines which contrast with the painted finish creating appealing decorative effects. A decorative non-functioning key-handle adorns every drawer and cupboard.
Alessandro says “A playful detail, somewhere between whimsical, ironic and functional, lies at the heart of WIRE… The mood of the collection is a strange balancing act between retro, minimalist aesthetics and futuristic touches. It moves forward, yet harks back; nostalgic, it dares to dream; its vision, the fruit of memory.”
The WIRE collection is currently showcasing at Milan Design Week and will be available to purchase this summer.
