This pitch is for a museum exhibition of chair design, rather than an individual object. I was not sure if you covered such things, but figured it cannot hurt to ask.
The Tampa Museum of Art current featured exhibition is A Hundred Years – A Hundred Chairs. Masterworks from the Vitra Design Museum, on display through September 16, 2012. This exciting show offers an intimate view of different periods of industrial furniture design throughout the century, showcasing chairs by designers such as Charles Eames, Marcel Breuer, Eero Saarinen and Harry Bertoia alongside drawings, sketches, historical documents and information on production techniques relating to each chair.
The Vitra Design Museum maintains one of the most important collections of modern furniture design, and this exhibition provides an opportunity to contemplate some of their most significant and beautiful chairs, while celebrating the designers and artists who pushed boundaries and elevated design to a key element of daily life.
The Tampa Museum of Art opened its award-winning home in 2010 with a commitment to providing innovative public programs with a strong focus on modern and contemporary art. Since its founding in 1979, the Museum has been dedicated to providing high-quality education to students and adults, with more than half of its programs offered free of charge.
