Norwegian design studio günzler.polmar will present two brand new projects at the 100% Norway exhibition at TENT London, during London Design Festival 2012. The duo BENKT consists of a bench and an accompanying blanket.

BENKT bench is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Scandinavian kitchen bench. The sitting position is upright, and fitting for social settings and seating by a table. The goal is to facilitate a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

The construction of the bench is honest and logical, and this is emphasized by visible round wooden plugs. All dimensions are the same, and the shape is clear and clean. There’s also a shelf under the seat for extra storage.

The bench is lightly upholstered and made with natural and pure materials; pinewood and Norwegian produced wool textile, Gandal by Gudbrandsdalen Uldvarefabrik. The cylindrical back cushions are affixed to the pine structure using leather straps with brass buckles.

The BENKT blanket has a graphic pattern developed as an interpretation of the cushions’ geometric lines. The blanket prototype is manufactured by Røros Tweed, and it´s produced with traditional weaving technique in brightly colored pure wool.

BENKT is about experience and enjoyment of quality materials, colors and clearly defined shapes.
