Design and fabrication process of 5dpi Dzmitry Samal’s glasses. These futuristic glasses have been designed with a pixelated effect, deliberately reflecting society’s fascination with an “informational aesthetic”. The design clearly refers for late 1980s computerized graphics and video games such as Tetris. While computer images and graphics have been revolutionized over the past two decades, these glasses are reminiscent of society’s digital roots and how technology has inspired
almost everything in use today. Even something as utilitarian as glasses can be transformed using technology.
Dzmitry Samal is a contemporary designer, based in Paris.
Starts his career as a car designer for Italian and French car manufacturers such as “Stile Bertone” and “Renault”. Soon develops a liking for product design and fashion, which he quickly puts into practice. One of his latest creations is a line of design-oriented glasses “Dzmitry Samal”
The collection completely reflects the personality of the artist. It combines both a futuristic and a retro vision of design, mixing vintage aesthetic
with advanced production elements. Dzmitry has a unique design approach and believes that the future of design lies in our past and our heritage. The collection is entirely produced in France using up-to-date technologies and handmade know-how.
