Images empruntées (borrowed images) is a narrative lamp series. Each lamp represents the thoughts of three different people on a subject related to light.
From left to right:
Lao-Tseu’s borrowed image
“Experience is a light that only illuminates itself.”
Thomas Fuller’s borrowed image
“To see the light of God, turn your candle off.”
Hervey de Saint-Denys’s borrowed image
“The mysteries of our memory are like vast underpasses where the light of our mind never penetrates better than when it has ceased to shine outside.”
