Olive is the begining of a multidisciplinary project with textile designer Adi Tasa and product designer Yoav Avinoam.
This prototype, presented in Sotheby’s Dream Objects exhibition in Tel-Aviv last month. is the first design in a collection to be presented later on.
Olive revives the traditional way of furniture making by re-examine the bonds between upholstery and the fabric around it. By doing so, the sofa gets a three dimensional surface and as a result it creates a new texture both visible and tangible.
the polyester based fabric is molded and inserted to a steam oven where it transforms into a 3 dimensional surface, then it goes through an upholstery process to complete the final design.
