I happened to do yet another piece on Art&Design this week, this time about a legitimate Mid-Century Modern innovator. I thought you’d enjoy:

It’s only recently that Irving Harper—one of the unsung visionaries of Mid-Century Modern—started to get attention. The uncredited inventor of the Marshmallow Sofa and Sunburst Clock has made waves with his wild, whimsical paper sculptures of animals, masks, and Cubist abstractions.

Now, an upcoming coffee-table book lets anyone tour his home and his private collection of handmade art. We got the story of how Harper bolstered George Nelson and Herman Miller furniture—plus a sneak-peak of the photos and interviews with the book’s creators. The release date is February 12.
