Recalling Memories, is a body of work that are collage pieces created by Eric Starosielski from sandblasted MRIs and diffusion imaging scans of the brain. The source scans are from Nouchine Hadjikhani, MD, PhD an Associate Professor in Radiology at the Harvard Medical School/MGH/MIT. This body of work looks at how we reflect on nostalgic memories and moments and forget about how they might not always have been as glorious as we recall. Eventually, there comes a point in one’s life when you realize that you have more past than future.
Starosielski was invited to exhibit at The Armory Show (2012) in New York, by Overgaden, Copenhagen, Denmark. Most recently my work has been acquired in the permanent collection of 3.1 Phillip Lim, through Charles Bank Gallery NYC. He is published in, 100 Artists of New England and has exhibited his work in the windows of Barneys New York, as well as DTR Modern Galleries. Starosielski is primarily based in New York City and Boston.
