Little Building Co launch Kickstarter campaign to realise Sydney Opera House Model Kit.
After 4 years of development the Little Building Co are releasing their long anticipated model kit of the Sydney Opera House.
This is the second release in the company’s series of models depicting iconic buildings by renowned architects. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum was the first after Little Building Co was approached by this famous New York museum to produce a model kit for them.
Manufactured from timber, and at a scale that allows close appreciation of the building and all of its detail, the model has the look and feel that it came from the architect’s own studio. This will appeal to anyone with an interest in architecture, design or model building. Our development process ensures our models are easy and enjoyable for anyone aged 12+ to construct.
Designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon, The Sydney Opera House has become a part of Australia’s cultural heritage and in 2007 was inscribed on the World Heritage List: “Sydney Opera House is a great architectural work of the 20th century. It represents multiple strands of creativity, both in architectural form and structural design, a great urban sculpture carefully set in a remarkable waterscape and a world famous iconic building.” UNESCO
The project has the approval of Jan Utzon, the architect’s son, who has been in support of the project since it’s inception,
“Congratulations on achieving such a level of detail on your near-perfect model of the Opera House.”
– Jan Utzon.
“We have chosen to go down the crowdfunding path to ensure there is a market for our product before going into production. We aim to address the absence of high quality products in the marketplace that do justice to some of the world’s best architecture. Our Kickstarter campaign allows people to pledge support in return for models and other rewards. Our campaign runs for 30 days and it will be an exciting time for us here” said Marcus Bree from Bree Industries, producers of the Little Building Co range of products.
