love making art objects that are also functional. The water in the legs of The Ozlöw Table can be switched out to fit a desired occasion. I stuck with red on all of the legs, but for a party, one has the ability to unscrew the legs from the cap and change the color of the water.
I’ve also been exploring forced functionality in that in my furniture projects I inject some kind of suggestion for how the furniture should be used. In The Black Cherry Table, I suggest that the Brooklyn Roasting Company lid be used as a drink holder. On other pieces, I’ve inserted a ring into the table’s design to urge you to hook your keys so that they aren’t lost next time you go searching for them.
